Overview
IncaMail is not interoperable with the Italian PEC system (Posta Elettronica Certificata). Therefore, IncaMail messages generally cannot be delivered to PEC addresses.
Background
PEC is an Italian system for certified emails with legal validity. It is used especially for communication between:
- Authorities
- Businesses
- Citizens
For a message to be considered a valid PEC message, it must originate from another PEC address.
Why can IncaMail messages not be delivered?
IncaMail messages, as well as ordinary emails from services like Gmail, Outlook, or other mail servers, are not part of the PEC system.
As a result, such messages are often:
- rejected by the PEC system,
- classified as untrustworthy, or
- not delivered.
Possible exceptions
Some PEC providers allow the reception of ordinary emails. However, these messages are usually:
- marked as not certified,
- processed without legal proof function, and
- do not offer the legal security of a PEC message.
This feature is disabled by default at many providers to prevent spam and misuse.
What does this mean for IncaMail users?
If a message is to be sent to a PEC address, the sender usually also needs a valid PEC address.
Important: Sending via IncaMail does not replace a PEC address and is not recognized by the PEC system as certified PEC communication.
